Monster 00:59
‘Monster’ Now that I have counted all my reasons Is there any room left there? Is there any room left there for feelings Like regret, remorse or even empathy? I don’t have a response And you don’t have a responsibility Brains for breakfast Hearts for tea Red wine and liver whilst watching TV Shudders run through me The things that I’ve done You thought you knew me I guess you were wrong I feel like a I feel like a I feel like a monster now I feel like a I feel like a I feel like a monster I am always counting up the exits The stars realign so you adapt or you die a zealot So now I’ve grown accustomed to the practice Of the Irish goodbye It’s a commonly employed tactic Brains for breakfast Hearts for tea Red wine and liver whilst watching TV Shudders run through me The things that I’ve done You thought you knew me I guess you were wrong I feel like a I feel like a I feel like a monster now I feel like a I feel like a I feel like a monster Don’t ask me no questions, Don’t ask Don’t ask me no questions, don’t Don’t ask me no questions, Don’t ask Don’t ask me no questions, don’t….(repeat) I feel like a I feel like a I feel like a monster now I feel like a I feel like a I feel like a monster now I feel like a I feel like a I feel like a monster now I feel like a I feel like a I feel like a monster now

One for Sorrow I hold my breath for hours The air’s so delicate I focus on the flowers And tomorrow’s etiquette This room holds the future A future with a name Bravery it suits you And you’re putting me to shame Pre- Chorus There’s magpies in the garden They look in when I look out I’m a little superstitious But I’m beginning to lose count Chorus I’d beg steal or borrow For that boy One for sorrow And it’s one, two - one two three for joy I’m not the happiest of campers To ever walk this park My thoughts are naturally inclined To run a little dark It’s something that I battle with And I won’t allow to stand So when joy like this comes calling I will grab it with both hands Pre- Chorus There’s magpies in the garden They look in when I look out I’m a little superstitious But I’m beginning to lose count Chorus I’d beg steal or borrow For that boy One for sorrow And it’s one, two - one two three for joy There are moments in your life That hold such great store The only way to measure them Is the after and before You may curse or you may thank Angels in the rafters But for me they have my grace For you my ever after Pre- Chorus There’s magpies in the garden They look in when I look out I’m a little superstitious But I’m beginning to lose count Chorus I’d beg steal or borrow For that boy One for sorrow And it’s one, two - one two three for joy

QUEEN OF CHAOS I feel like I'm drowning Waves of my own making Washing over me Listen to the radio Telling me things I should know Before I fall asleep Listen to the radio Telling me things I should Know before I sleep, know before I sleep Chorus Then I see you there Your heart on your sleeve Waitin for the End of.. Western Civilisation I see you there Like Mona Lisa Smiling like you Know a secret Something, that changes everything Response is automatic So melodramatic I wish that wasn’t me Looking at the tv show Tell me things I should know Before I fall asleep Looking at the tv show Tell me things I should know before I sleep, know before I sleep Chorus Then I see you there Your heart on your sleeve Waitin for the End of.. Western Civilisation I see you there Like Mona Lisa Smiling like you Know a secret Something, that changes everything You could laugh or you could cry - You choose the former Your beauty and your sense of humour Make such Magnificent armour, Magnificent armour And I'm on my knees I curse my nature Like Achilles Or some tragic figure From a Shakespearian out take You pick me up and Hold me tightly Whisper that it's Ok baby Let's just Watch television La la la la...

Harpoon 00:51
Harpoon The forgotten Kings All swag and swing Have left the nightclubs now Only their ghosts Are left to boast Of conquests to the crowd Those Kings and Queens Of weekend dreams That turn to ash on Monday Now amongst the dead They lost their heads In the quiet revolution of Sunday Gut you like a harpoon When it finally gets you……..baby A Friday night, a monsoon Of blood and booze and bad tunes There’s no logic to the mess This life we live it don’t make sense We’re all mad here the rabbit says We’re all mad here the rabbit says The world we live it makes no sense There’s no logic to this mess We’re all mad here the rabbit says We’re all mad here the rabbit says Like giddy teens So fresh and clean A night so filled with promise Has come to this All puke and piss And empty as the bottles That fill the bins In alleyways Behind the clubs and bars A man looks at me So knowingly From a taxi, there’s no cars Gut you like a harpoon When it finally gets you……..baby A Friday night, a monsoon Of blood and booze and bad tunes There’s no logic to the mess This life we live it don’t make sense We’re all mad here the rabbit says We’re all mad here the rabbit says The world we live it makes no sense There’s no logic to this mess We’re all mad here the rabbit says We’re all mad here the rabbit says Do do do do do doo…. I got a fever For the lever I got a fever For the litre There’s gotta be more Mmmmore than this There’s gotta be more Aghhhh Gut you like a harpoon When it finally gets you……..baby A Friday night, a monsoon Of blood and booze and bad tunes There’s no logic to the mess This life we live it don’t make sense We’re all mad here the rabbit says We’re all mad here the rabbit says The world we live it makes no sense There’s no logic to this mess We’re all mad here the rabbit says We’re all mad here the rabbit says

Off the Grid 02:22
Off The Grid Staring out at breezes Picking up the pieces Just another bleeding heart Looking for distraction To stop this over-thinking But I don’t know just where to start Wake up in the morning And just for a moment You don’t have that sense of loss Then all of a sudden It hits you in the gut and… Hands you back your albatross Oh come on Chorus I’m going off, I’m going off The beaten track, where there’s no pins in maps I’m going off, I’m going off The beaten track, where there’s no pins in maps I’m going off, I’m going off The grid, the grid Trying hard to hold on To my sense of humour It’s better than a sense of dread Trying not to listen To rumblings and rumours Most of them are in your head Oh come on Chorus I’m going off, I’m going off The beaten track, where there’s no pins in maps I’m going off, I’m going off The beaten track, where there’s no pins in maps I’m going off, I’m going off The grid, the gri Amarosa Amarosa-a-a Amarosa Amarosa-a-a Amorosa, sin mi Amarosa Amorosa, sin mi Amarosa Amorosa, sin mi Amarosa Amarosa, sin mi Amarosa

Let The Credits Roll Imprinted on my memory Like a classic melody Oh wo Those looks lingered on my lips My hands holding on to your hips But now your smile don't reach your eyes It can't come as a surprise Oh Wo That the air between us feels so tense We make love but we don’t make sense Am I meant to feel like it's alright How am I meant to feel when you call tonight Do I act like nothing's going on Though we both know there's something wrong We used to be in close contact But now we’ve got to face the facts You’re always glancing at the door You don’t really come around no more Am I meant to feel like it's alright How am I meant to feel when you call tonight Do I act like nothing's going on Though we both know there's something wrong Bridge Every memory takes its toll We just gotta let the credits roll Coz this just isn’t working out We need to call it, call it, call it Am I meant to feel like it's alright How am I meant to feel when you call tonight Do I act like nothing's going on Though we both know there's something wrong

Wait 04:06
Wait Hanging on their every word In the air, in the air, in the air Like a predatorial bird In the air, in the air, in the air Ooohhh woo I don't wanna lose it Ooohhh woo But I'm so confused Chorus Wait a minute now Wait a minute now Wait a minute now Just just wait a minute now X2 There's something going on around here In the air, in the air, in the air You can taste the atmosphere In the air, in the air, in the air Ooohhh woo I don't wanna lose it Ooohhh woo But I'm so confused Chorus Wait a minute now Wait a minute now Wait a minute now Wait a minute now Just wait a minute now Wait a minute now Wait a minute now Just just wait a minute now That paranoia boy Will tear you up inside Those insecurities Will fill your head with lies You gotta get a grip On something good in your life You gotta get a grip But everything is ice Oh wait a minute now…. Chorus That paranoia boy Will tear you up inside Those insecurities Will fill your head with lies You gotta get a grip On something good in your life You gotta get a grip But everything is ice Oh wait a minute now…. Chorus

Somebody’s Watching Somebody’s watching, Somebody’s watching you Somebody’s listening in, in on you They ask for permissions But they won’t think twice Of taking liberties - everything comes with a price Somebody’s watching, they’re watchin you You’re wearing a wire, That you’ve chosen to ignore You’ve welcomed the vampires Right in through your front door They sold us the signal, We’re under surveillance We are the victims Yet we are their agents CHORUS Somebody’s watching, Somebody’s watching you Somebody’s listening in, in on you They ask for permissions But they won’t think twice Of taking liberties - everything comes with a price Somebody’s watching, they’re watchin you Conspiracy Theories They say we are paranoid For a life of convenience We offered up our girls and boys The rich tapestry The threads of a human life Is reduced and devalued Down to a megabyte CHORUS Somebody’s watching, Somebody’s watching you Somebody’s listening in, in on you They ask for permissions But they won’t think twice Of taking liberties - everything comes with a price Somebody’s watching, they’re watchin you Why would you need to know where I am all the time?

about

Peco's debut solo album, 'The Middle Ages' is jam packed with jangly electric guitar riffs and pop melodies, reminiscent of 80s & 90s indie rock. All built upon the Roots & Folk foundations laid down in his 2017 EP 'And So I Arrived At The Start'.
One constant throughout both releases is the lyrical content and depth. A general theme throughout the album is one of self evaluation and growing older. The title, ‘The Middle Ages’, obviously hints at this but it’s also a reference to how the world at large seems to be moving backwards to a less enlightened place in the last couple of years.
Theses themes are explored in a refreshing and honest way and often with a touch of self deprecation and humor. It's also very much an up tempo album and the songs are delivered with urgency and no shortage of swagger. And hooks, lots and lots of hooks! Musically it's very much the sound of a confident group of musicians and friends enjoying themselves.
